How has Michael Pollan changed the way you think about food?
·         Organic food tastes better free-range grown than the ones that are in confined place.

Will you make any changes in your eating habits?
·         It depends on how the food came from and what habitat it was raise.

Do you agree or disagree with Michael Pollan?
·         I agree with the Michael Pollan’s theory of where food came from, but it’s hard to say if the food was drugged or not. We have to be there to see it, because there are a lot of hypocrites everywhere.

How do you feel about monocultures as they relate to crops?
·         Size matters and the way it is grown. The larger the land, the more free-range animals the farm will have eating the pasture and the more “Organic” it will be.

What is an “industrial eater”?
·         The scary thing about industrial eating is that it is trying to remove the market from nature, and make the supply of food not dependent on the size of the world’s various crops.

What health problems can be linked to modern food production?
·         The crops or the food that the animals eat could be drugged in order to enhance their growth and size.

What concerns you about the way you eat or the way your food is created?
·         It is hard to say if the food we get from the super market is really organically grown, because people can use money as an advantage to get anything labeled.

Is the capitalistic model (getting the most from the least) a good one for food production?
·         In order for farmers to be more productive, they will add some key ingredients to enhance the size and growth of the food.

What’s a “grass farmer”?
·         A grass farmer will focus most of their time on the pasturing their grass in order for the animals to have a nice and healthy habitat and food to consume without drugs.

Have you ever grown your own food? Has that changed the eating experience?
·         If I had a choice, I would grow my own vegetables, so I know it is fresh in a chemical free environment.

How safe is our food supply?
·         It isn’t very save, because we don’t know where it really came from. It’s like eating strawberries in the winter season.

What do you think should be the proper role of government in deciding how we grow, process, and eat our food?
·         We should have more information about the environment, history of the land and a little background of the farmer.

Does the way we eat reflect our collective values?
·         Average person will eat anything and not care where it comes from specially the fast food franchise.

Is “Eating an agricultural act”?

How did the stories of George Naylor in Iowa, Joel Salatin at Polyface, or Angelo Garro in northern California help Michael Pollan to understand and communicate his subject?



What do you like or dislike about Michael Pollan?
·         He gives a really good point of view. People can spend more on utilities and other expenses, but they don’t bother going far enough for good food.

What would you cook if Michael Pollan were coming for dinner?


Are there problems with the consumer costs of industrial food vs the costs of food from smaller mixed farms?

Does the North American diet differ from the diets of other countries?
